A brief pause

In mid December the Art Society classes stopped for Christmas and after completing one further painting I had a 4-6 week break from it all... I really enjoyed the break and didn't think much about painting over this time.. I didn't understand how I could go from painting so much to stopping and not even considering it, but maybe I needed the break.

The pencil work took quite a long time on this one!

Once the classes started up in the New Year if honest I almost couldn't face attending again. It wasn't that I didn't want to paint, more that I don't like the rigidity of a set weekly class - commitment phobe.

Once I finally did go back, immediately I felt harmony, a great love for painting, and that I had missed it and that theres nothing as absorbing and fulfilling.

I painted another Rob Piercy image, this time of Tryfan and I'm really pleased with the result, in fact I might make some prints from it to give Welsh friends.

Next on cards is to use all that I have learnt to paint some Highland mountains.. Lets see how this works out.
